PERFECTOS® has expanded in the 50 years of its life, from initially the founder John Price in his garage, into an international company with 70 employees at Bottesford, and 35 in Hong Kong.
Our original industrial inks were with customers in the local fabric garment label printing business, who in turn supplied labels to the garment producing industry, who were in Nottingham, Leicester, Lancashire and surrounding counties in the United Kingdom.
Nowadays the garment production industry has moved East and so in 2010 we set up PERFECTOS® Hong Kong facility headed by the Managing Director Steven Price with offices, warehouses and manufacturing unit to service the expanding market.
In 1969, John Price at the age of 26, started his own business at Arnold United Kingdom. At that same time, he was still working for Farbwerke Hoechst AG which was a large German dyestuffs, pigments and chemicals manufacturer as a technical sales representative. Previously John has already had 5 years’ work experiences in Boots UK for cosmetics and 5 years’ work experience in PP Payne for packaging tapes regarding on setting up a Quality Control system and ink development for fabric garment label uses. Whilst working for Farbwerke Hoechst AG, John was a good salesman because of well trained by world class sales training organization. On the other hand, he was an acknowledged expert on producing ink as he was a chemist.
John has decided to have a go at ink development and manufacture in his garage at nights and weekends to see if this might be a viable business. The enterprise was set up with £100 capital. The business name “Perfectos” was thought up by Ann, John’s wife. In the first year (1970), the small business already had a turnover of £3000. After five years (1975) of very hard work, turnover had increased to over £50,000. After four years in 1979, a turnover has had over £3 million. By the early 1970s, Ann found an old mill in Bottesford for expansion. Meanwhile, a couple of years after moving to Bottesford, the firm decided to rent a small portion of a factory unit on the local industrial estate and further two years later in the 1980s the office finally moved in.
