Sustainable inks are those with minimal environmental impact, even as scales of production increase. A sustainable ink can be produced in large quantities to meet growing demand without straining the environment or creating health hazards in the workplace.
There is increasing regulatory pressures on solvent-based inks, leading in resulting on developing water-based ink technologies that have negligible VOCs. As we understand about the toxicity of organic solvents in the environment and in the workplace, we expect regulations controlling the use and disposal of these materials to become stricter over time, and we expect customers to continue looking for “greener” alternatives.
Our water-based inks – ECOTRANS® shares sustainable features including non-VOCs making them safe to handle in the workplace and having limited impact on the environment.
Many business and associations create Restricted Substances Lists (RSL) and Declarable Substances Lists to provide an inventory of maximum recommended levels of known hazardous substances for a variety of products and packaging in numerous industries. An example related to our industry is the RSL for the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA), also commonly known as a Green Procurement Standard. It provides guideline for us to help our customers better prepare for continually evolving health and environmental standards by establishing and maintaining rules and documentation on the substances contained in our products.
Most of our products are formulated to exclude many other components found within various RSL’s as declared in our multi product exclusion declaration.
We are having some relevant certifications to show to our customers that most of our inks are manufactured to comply with a mechanism of ECO-PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® certification such that end products: PFL (printed fabric labels) or HTL (heat transfer labels) etc. are able to comply with Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 class 1.
We are producing environmentally responsible products. All inks are manufactured in facilities operating to ISO 9001 and ISO14001 Standards, formulated free of formaldehyde, heavy metals, chlorinated phenols, organotin compounds, MAK amines, allergenic dyestuffs, chlorinated carriers & PAH’s. Phthalates & PVC free.
